Curfew Extended In Uttar Pradesh By Another Week

 



The Uttar Pradesh government on Sunday decided to further extend the duration of the curfew in the state till May 17 amid a surge in coronavirus cases. The previous curfew was to end on Monday morning.

The Uttar Pradesh government has extended the partial corona curfew imposed in the state till May 17.

Additional chief secretary, Information, Navneet Sehgal, tweeted that the curbs have been extended.

Earlier, the curfew was imposed till May 10.

Cases in the state rose by 26,847 on Saturday while the total count reached 14,80,315. The death toll on Saturday was reported at 298 while the total deaths due to the coronavirus in the state has climbed to 15,170.

Most states have taken to lockdowns or night curfews to break the chain of transmission.


In neighbouring Delhi, Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal today extended the lockdown by another week, saying it will be "stricter this time".
